In a very special episode of So Good it Hurts, Jarrod and Conor went out and got themselves doubled teamed by Grown Ups 2 and One Direction: This is Us. Have our hosts bitten of more than they can chew? Is this too much badness even for them? The answers to these questions and so much more await you on this episode of So Good it Hurts.
Trailer: ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’
First we had Electro. Then we had the Rhino who in this trailer is in some sort of mechanical rhino. Now we have the Green Goblin in this film. Usually, they wait until the third film until they have three villains in it.
To make matters even more convoluted, they are also bringing back Peter’s parents plot which was cut out of the first film haphazardly and being rammed into this one in connection with Oscorp. There is also the required hero angst in this trailer as well.
To be fair, the second film does seem to have more going for it than what the first film had which was just an attempt by Sony to hold on to the license from being reverted back to Marvel Studios and Disney/Paramount.
However there are still concerns still due to the tendency of superhero films to overload on villains as they keep going aka Spiderman 3 which also had three villains but no parent subplot. It is good they cut Mary Jane out of this film as they have a hard enough time with all the plot elements they currently have. There is also the question of if they are going to use the most famous plot point of Gwen Stacy with the Green Goblin.
In a interesting side note, in the trailer they have a very subtle plug for a viral marketing thing for the Daily Bugle on Tumblr which is only on screen for a second or two but actually exists in real life.
Gal Gadot Set to Play Wonder Woman in ‘Batman vs. Superman’
Actress Gal Gadot, previously known for her work in the Fast & Furious series, has been cast to play Wonder Woman and her alter ego Diana Prince and will be co-starring alongside Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent in the still untitled ‘Batman Vs. Superman' film set for 2015.
Director Zack Snyder commented:
"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character…"

Proof of Concept Trailer for Zorro: Reborn
So apparently the idea to do a gritty Sci-Fi re-imagining of Zorro has been floating around Hollywood and I’ve found a proof of concept trailer for it. It looks… interesting.
It says a lot about the film when the concept trailer has already completely turned me off from seeing the movie. But what do all you lovelies think? Does Zorro need a Sci-Fi reboot? Are you excited? Is the katanna really necessary?
J.J. Abrams has been discussing the recent postponement of Star Wars: Episode VII to December 2015, and is evidently pleased that the studio is not rushing him to get something finished by an unrealistic deadline…
While I’m disappointed by the date being pushed back, I am super happy that the studio has shown a rare degree of patience and actually listened to Abrams.
It seems that Magneto has taken to rewriting the history books for the next X-Men movie and has been implicated in the death of President Kennedy. A new viral site gives a fictional reexamination of the events leading to his assassination.
Now I’m not going to question the appropriateness using the 50th anniversary of Kennedy’s death to push the next X-Men movie, but the site does present a in depth and interesting alternate history and I love my alternate history.
What do you all think? Is this inappropriate marketing stunt or viral genius? Does anybody else think that the History Channel is one step away from airing stuff like this?
Guillermo del Toro has long been hopeful of getting a Justice League Dark movie greenlit, with Warner apparently keen on bringing the project to the big screen…
